Acro Swing represents a recently developed dance discipline established under the auspices of the World Federation of Acrobatic and Swing Dances (WFASD). Its official presentation took place on 26 November 2023 in Moscow, within the framework of the WFASD World Rock’n’Roll Championship, marking its formal entry into the international dance arena.

The discipline synthesizes elements from a spectrum of swing traditions—Shag, Balboa, Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie,and Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll—to create a hybrid form that is at once rooted in heritage and oriented toward innovation. Acro Swing can be practiced individually, in pairs, or within group formations, allowing for a diversity of expression and competitive formats.

Characterized by its modernity, dynamism, and aesthetic vibrancy, Acro Swing positions itself as both a continuation of the swing legacy and a distinct contribution to the evolving landscape of dance sport.

The Acro Swing rules set clear standards for performance, judging, safety, and competition conduct, ensuring fairness and consistency while preserving the sport’s artistic and athletic spirit.
