Protecting Athletes. Preserving Integrity.

Anti-Doping

The World Federation of Acrobatic Dances and Dance Sports (WFADS) is deeply committed to creating an environment where every participant — from grassroots dancers discovering the sport to elite athletes competing on the world stage — can thrive in safety, fairness, and mutual respect. We recognize that the strength of our Association lies not only in the artistry and athleticism of dance sport but also in the protection of those who dedicate themselves to it. Safeguarding is central to our mission, ensuring that athletes, coaches, judges, and officials can participate free from abuse, harassment, or discrimination, while knowing their rights and well-being are protected at all times.

At the same time, WFADS works to uphold the integrity of sport through a rigorous anti-doping framework. By aligning with the World Anti-Doping Code, we ensure that performance is determined by talent, discipline, and dedication rather than prohibited substances or unfair practices. Our Anti-Doping Rules provide clear principles, responsibilities, and procedures that guide our community, combining athlete welfare with fair competition. In doing so, WFADS not only protects individual participants but also strengthens trust in dance sport as a whole, reinforcing its place as a discipline of integrity, excellence, and inspiration worldwide.

Understanding our Anti-Doping Rules

It is the official framework that ensures all participants can train, perform, and compete in a safe and fair environment. These rules protect athletes from abuse, harassment, and discrimination while also enforcing compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code to keep dance sport clean.

The policy applies to everyone involved in WFADS activities — athletes, coaches, judges, officials, support personnel, event organizers, volunteers, and National Federations.

WFADS fully complies with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code. Enforcement includes:

  • In-competition and out-of-competition testing.

  • Education programs for athletes and officials.

  • Recognition of the WADA Prohibited List.

  • Use of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) for medical needs.

  • Disciplinary measures for violations.

Anti-doping breaches may lead to disqualification, suspension, loss of titles or medals, or permanent bans.

Reports can be submitted confidentially through WFADS’s designated anti-doping officers. Whistleblowers acting in good faith are protected from retaliation.
